Introduction

So this is My first dev log like ever. Might sound very casual since I am not used to writing this kind of stuff, but let's begin with some background. So me and my friend (who happens to be a game developer) have been thinking of creating a hypercasual game for quite some time, We wanted to create something fun and quick. also for mobile since it is cheap and easy to publish for starters.

We decided to create a shooting game and add the element of dungeon crawling to it. Even though we wanted to create something small the scope already seems big to me but let us see.

Progress

So in the first week, I created a small village scene in unity. where using the UI you can navigate between the village's residential area and the dungeon entrance area. added a small script to move the camera between two predefined points. so far so good.

also created a small play test map with a white cube for testing out the main mechanics. I added a sphere as a face to know in which direction these cubes are moving and where they are facing.Auto Shooter

here is the step-by-step progress of the dungeon cave entrance area. still not very sure what from which steps look good and what looks bad. would really appreciate some feedback. the video above shows the latest version, which is bit jolly in colour.

We will be focusing on creating more in-game maps and developing core gameplay mechanics next week. so stay tuned, and stay safe :)
